This is the first in a series of courses on the topic and subject of theology. In this courses students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts that the discipline of Systematic Theology. The course describes the history of Systematic Theology, beginning with the Patristic Period with its flirtation with "Neo-Pentecostalism". We then study the development of Systematic Theology during the Middle Ages with its high dependence on the rational logic of Aristotle. We finally look at the confesstional development of Systematic Theology during the Protestant Reformation. We will study a number of other concepts and principles that are also pertinent to Systematic Theology.
This course is built in a way that makes it advantageous to clerics and the laity alike. If you are interested in some of the deeper elements of what we believe as Christians, then this course is definitely for you.
