This course consist of 20 lessons and takes the student on a profound journey of where the office of Bishop originated from. The instructors presents to the students pivotal personalities and critical events both before and after the Council of Nicea that contributes to the exercise of the office in the New Testament Church. This course is a co-teaching effort by Archbishop Dennis M. Golphin, Bishop Andy C. Lewter, Jr., and Bishop David Chaney.

The Graduate School of Episcopal Studies is a ten year collaboration between Bishop Dennis Golphin, Bishop David Chaney and Bishop Andy C. Lewter. Approximately 12 years ago, these three gifted educators recognized the need that there an academic outlet and forum for the growing number of persons who were embracing the episcopacy and flowing in the office of a bishop.
