This one of two courses taught by Archbishop Dennis Golphin and Bishop Andy Lewter on the period known as the Protestant Reformation. In this course particular attention is give to the time prior to the Protestant Reformation. More specifically, personalities of the 12th, 14th and 15th centuries are reviewed and examined to determine what impact they had on the 16th century Protestant Reformation. In addition, a portion of time in the course takes a look at culture and practices of the Roman Catholic Church that ignited the work of what the course refers to as "morniingstars", which include Peter Waldo, John Wycliff and Jan Hus.

Bishop Lewter holds degrees from Oberlin College, Harvard University and the United Theological Seminary. Over the years, he has created over 50 online courses and have served hundreds of student from all across the country and world.
